Wednesday 30 October
PRIMARY, Nottingham

Jack Harris will present an evening of music in two parts, to coincide with the end of his time in residence at PRIMARY.

Part one will consist of rich and immersive works showcasing Harris’ exploration of drifting forms that mimic environmental and circadian rhythms, forms that attempt to generate a stasis or stoppage through an investigation of tone, texture, room acoustic, and the surrounding incidental soundscape, in a slow and calmly unfolding manner.

The second half of the evening will see Harris joined by collaborators to present realisations of a number of scored works that isolate, frame, and compare selected materials and phenomena, as objects of interest within abstract and geometric formal arrangements.

Recorded work and artefacts produced during and outside the residency period will be available for purchase during the evening.

Free Event

This event is a result of the Heterotic II residency, a partnership between Eastside Projects and Primary that offers an artist based in the West Midlands the chance to test and develop new work and ideas and develop networks and professional connections across the Midlands. The residency is funded by Turning Point West Midlands and is the third in a series of residencies designed to give practitioners based in the West Midlands the opportunity to spend time working elsewhere.
